Riemann P20 Face Cream is a very long-lasting sunscreen for the face. It is a light sunscreen with protection up to 10 hours with one application. It is water and sweat resistant, and if you use the right SPF for you skin and do not spend more than 4x20 minutes in the water or dry yourself with a towel, it is good for the whole day in the sun. This is the most sun stable sunscreen on the market.
I tested the sunscreen from Shiseido last Easter, they promise not only that it is water- and sweat- resistant, but that the UV-filters in the cream actually becomes even stronger when in contact with water or sweat. This is perfect for an active holiday in the mountains. I tested it during several of my cross-country skiing trips and it protected my skin for many hours. Shiseido Expert Sun Protector, Face & Body lotion SPF 30 is my favourite for skiing in winter and long bicycle rides in summer. The texture is fantastic, absorbs quickly into the skin and can be used on both the face and the body.
Lancaster is one of the big experts on sunscreen. It does not only protect you from UVA- and UVB- rays it also protects you from infrared rays. More and more research shows that these rays are just as damaging to the skin and the skin ages even quicker with high exposure. Lancaster does not only protect your skin it also stimulates the production of Melanin (pigment) in you skin and gives you a long-lasting tan with a deeper colour. Silky Milk Sublime Tan, SPF 15 is the sunscreen I use for lazy sunny days in the park and days when I am not very active or swimming.
For younger children I would choose Sun for Kids Body Lotion, SPF 30 from Rudolph Care. This is a mild but water-resistant sunscreen for children, and it is perfume free. And do remember: Children’s skin is thinner and more sensitive in the sun, they need more protection than adults. For every time you skin gets red or burned your chances of getting skin cancer increase.
.The Organic sunstick, SPF 50 is a genius product for smaller areas that need protecting like nose, lips and your ears. These areas are the ones that are always exposed to the sun and can become more sensitive if not protected. Remember to cover tattoos and scars in the sun. Rudolph Care is one of the most natural sunscreens on the market, without losing any protection. All the products are Swan marked (Svanemerket) which means that they are environmentally friendly and safe for you to use. To get this certification the product can not contain any of the ingredients that are on the EU’s list which can be hormone disruptive or that can be an allergen.
A handful of sunscreen (20-30 ml) is the right amount of sunscreen for an adult body. If using a gel, sun spray or a light lotion you may need a little less. For your face a good teaspoon or the size of a Norwegian 5kr coin, is the correct amount. It is very important to use enough sunscreen, if you don’t the SPF marked on the bottle will not be correct.
