In our shops have for products for all different kind of passengers. If you are vegan or are concerned about animal welfare, your should read on.

For some a vegan lifestyle might just seem to be a trend, but the cosmetic industry has become aware that this is a market that requires more attention. Especially among the younger generation their wish to use sustainable products that are not tested on animals and none of the ingredients are of animal origin.

Vegan products

Vegan products are not tested on animals and none of the ingredient used are of animal origin. These days ingredients that use to come from animals are today either synthetic or plant based. In makeup and skincare ingredients like honey, beeswax and lanolin is not to be used. Makeup brushes were often made from animal fur, but for people living vegan lifestyle we should have synthetic brushes.

Cruelty-free products

As with vegan products, cruelty-free products are not tested on animals. But the products can contain ingredients that are of animal origin like honey, beeswax, lanolin among others. The cruelty-free products are made with consideration to animal welfare and the ingredients that are of animal origin is made accordingly to ethical procedures. This means no animals are killed or hurt to get the ingredients.

Within the EU it is forbidden to test cosmetic and skincare products on animals. But in some other countries it is allowed or required by law for these products to be tested on animals. Today very few Brands openly say that they allow animal testing, some do send products to these countries to be tested. This is a process that has been discontinued by most brands that are sold in these countries due to the production of new plant based, synthetic or animal friendly alternatives.

If a product has the Vegan Trademark on the packaging, you can be sure the product is vegan. A product does not necessarily have to be registered with this Trademark to be vegan.
