Akevitt
Aquavit is a spirirt with roots in Scandinavia. The main raw material in Norway is potato, while in other countries grain is also used. In order to be called "Norwegian aquavit", at least 95% of the potatoes used in the aquavit production must have come from Norway. Several different spices can be used, but according to Norwegian rules it is specified that seeds from dill and/or carraway must be the main spice ingredient. There are both clear and barrel-aged golden aquavits. An aquavit can be enjoyed alone, as an ingredient for drinks such as Fjellbekk or accompanied with different types of seafood or meat.
